Levine Architects collaborates with you to provide exceptional design solutions, unique for each project. Our expert knowledge of planning and building codes help speed up and simplify the permit process. Established in 2003, we’ve completed hundreds of projects throughout the Bay Area.

Our Staff

Andy Levine

Principal Design Architect, Founder

With over 40 years of professional experience, Andy has successfully directed significant projects in a wide variety of building types including residential, healthcare and corporate headquarters. He is passionate about helping his clients visualize their design dreams, applying his technical expertise to the art of architecture. Andy was trained at Brown and RISD, and holds an M.Arch from Columbia University. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Upper Noe Neighbors (UNN) as the Land Use Committee Chair. He is also a member of SPUR and the Upper Noe Merchants Association. AKA Supreme Architect.

 

Roger Sayre

Senior Project Manager

Roger is a California registered architect and a LEED certified professional. With over 30 years of experience, he has completed a wide variety of project types including residential, commercial and healthcare. Roger holds a B.Arch from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. An avid cyclist, he once rode 545 miles in a 7-day trip from SF to LA in the AIDS/LifeCycle charity ride.

Rob Razzo

Senior Project Architect

Rob is a California registered architect and San Francisco native with over 35 years of experience.  He has experience in a diverse range of project types: high-end residential remodels,  high-rise seismic retrofits, as well as 16 years in healthcare design. He holds a B.A. in Environmental Design from UC Berkeley. Rob lives with his family in a San Francisco craftsman-style bungalow, much of which he rebuilt himself.

 

Robert M. Detman

Senior Associate

Robert is our lead designer in charge of permit and bid documents. He has completed many residential, commercial and institutional projects. Multi-talented, he recently published his first novel: “The Impossible Lives of Basher Thomas“. He holds a B.A. in Architecture from the University of Michigan and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Goddard College.

 

Mark Shimamoto

Senior Design Architect

Mark has over 30 years of experience as an architect and urban designer.  A hallmark of his work is his attention to detail that ensures creative, quality designs on residential, religious and commercial projects. Mark holds a B.A. in Architecture from the University of Minnesota.

Theresa Kwong

Architect

Theresa is a California registered architect with over 20 years of experience in large-scale commercial, residential and institutional projects. In addition, she is an accomplished jewelry designer. She graduated with high honors from UC Berkeley, with a B.A. degree in Architecture.
